We know that ASUS’ ROG Phone 2 will come with the recently announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus chipset, and there were reports suggesting that the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy Note 10 could sport the chip too; but a chip like that is made for gaming, and Nubia takes note.

The Chinese brand has confirmed that they will be making Snapdragon 855 Plus editions of their Nubia Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone. The current model comes with the regular SD 855, so it remains a question if the new SoC will replace what we have now or exist alongside it, to boost options.

We reported yesterday that Qualcomm has claimed that their newest and baddest chipset is set to offer 15% percent better performance from the GPU along with an increased clock speed form the Kryo processor.

The chipset is also said to improve VR, AI and 5G connectivity support, so the new Nubia Red Magic 3 could become a whole other beast compared to the current version. As a bit of a refresher, the Red Magic 3 is a 6.65-inch device that boasts an AMOLED display that pushes 90Hz refresh rates.

A single 48MP rear camera comes equipped while the selfie shooter is a 16MP lens – nothing fancy in the imaging department. But it is a gaming phone after all – and a gaming phone needs a massive 5,000mAh battery – which, of course, you get here.
