We know by now that Huawei’s ban mean that they can’t do business with American entities such as Intel, Qualcomm, ARM and Google – bringing with it uncertainty and loss of income on Huawei’s part.
This trade ban, however, affects the aforementioned companies too – a recently report says that the likes of Intel and Qualcomm are lobbying against the ban for fear of massive financial losses. Today, it seems that Microsoft are follow in that vein as well.
The company didn’t release an official statement on their stand in the issue, but their Chinese satellite HQ had halted orders for their Windows operating system from Huawei, signifying their intent on distancing themselves from the Chinese brand.

In spite of that, Microsoft says that they have resumed the sales of Huawei laptops on its website. If anything, this suggests that there’s a shift in the trade war between China and the US. Along with Qualcomm and Intel, Microsoft are now taking a stand on the ban by using Huawei as the messenger.
Microsoft says that they will resume selling existing inventory of Huawei MateBook laptops and continue to provide software updates to existing Huawei devices.
As Huawei continue to receive proxy support from these companies, we have to remember that the company still have an upcoming hearing – which is set for September 19 – to challenge the constitutionality of Section 889 of the 2019 NDAA – a law that essentially prohibits ties between American entities and Huawei.
