AMD and Qualcomm are joining forces to bring Always Connected support to Ryzen Mobile PCs

AMD has announced today that they are working together with Qualcomm to bring fast PC connectivity solutions to AMD’s Ryzen mobile processors. With Snapdragon LTE modem solutions, PC manufacturers can create computing platforms with Always Connected, Gigabit LTE speeds alongside the fast performing AMD Ryzen mobile processors.

We already know that Ryzen Mobile Processors with Radeon Vega graphics is a powerful processor for ultrathin notebooks which brings about 2.7x the CPU performance and up to 2.2x the GPU performance. Other than that, it also provides great performance in eSport titles and supports features like HDRm Radeon FreeSync 2 and 4K monitors. Finally, they also provide 2x battery life improvements across the board.

Combining that with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon LTE Modem Solutions, users will get to take advantage of the latest wireless network technologies, fast LTE download speeds even in places with weak signals and a longer battery life.

As of now, there are no indications on which laptops will be equipped with this latest technology but rest assured, AMD and Qualcomm will be announcing the devices that will support these technologies closer to the release date.
