Xiaomi just had a live stream of their new and improved Mi 5 phone called the Xiaomi Mi 5X. The live stream is currently being broadcast in Chinese, so for those of you that don’t understand the language (my self-included), this article will give you a more compressed information on the specs and details of the phone.
The screen that the phone is equipped with is a IPS LCD 5.5-inch FHD screen, powering it will be the Snapdragon 625 processor, 64GB expandable to 128GB via a microSD card, 4GB RAM, 3080mAh battery Android 7.1.1 out-of-the-box and it will be running on the new MIUI 9. Something very interesting about the camera is that it will be using the same camera seen on the MI 6 however, it will not have OIS although it is available in the Mi 6. Xiaomi also boasts a powerful audio amplifier that is capable of producing 600 Ohms of power, giving you a better and louder sound.
If you did not know already, the camera on the Mi 6 is a great camera, so if you are looking to get the phone mainly for the camera, you could save a bit by just getting the Mi 5X which will cost you 1499 Yuan (~RM950). The phone will come in three colours, Black, Gold, and Rose Gold and will be available on 1 August 2017 in China and the rest of the world at a later date.
