Xiaomi today announced the Xiaomi Mi 9T, the mid-range variant of the Mi 9 line-up of phones. This is essentially a re-branded model of the recently announced Redmi K20.

The phone is a 6.39-inch AMOLED display that pushes 1080p resolution – there are no notches, thanks to a pop-up selfie camera.

Over at the back is a triple lens setup – 48MP main + 13MP ultra-wide + 8MP telephoto lens. The phone comes equipped with a Sony IMX 582 imaging sensor too. The 3D glass back is another note-worthy feature of the phone – the Flame Red and Glacier Blue versions sport flame decals towards the edges of the panel, while Carbon Black sports Kevlar-like patterns instead.

The 20MP pop up selfie camera is your regular affair, aside from two LED lights that accent the module when it rises. The LED light doesn’t stay on however, so it’s a gimmick at best.

Inside, you’ll find a Snapdragon 730 chipset, 6GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of internal storage. Powering the phone is a 4,000mAh battery, which is much large than that of its siblings, the Xiaomi Mi 9 and Mi 9SE.

The phone charges via USB Type-C and supports fast charging. The phone retails at RM1,199 for the 6+64GB variant and RM1,399 for the 6+128GB variant. The phone is available for pre-order starting today; while a flash sale on Lazada on 25 June, 10am will give you the chance to get the 6+64GB variant for only RM1,099.
