While some brands have decided to skip MWC 2020, the majority of them chose to attend. This includes vivo who will be debuting its APEX 2020 during MWC 2020 — featuring a bezel-less design with innovative cameras.

According to leaker Ben Geskin, an unofficial render shows the APEX 2020 that resembles the vivo Nex 3 that was launched in 2019. On the front, the phone has no bezels and a pop-up camera and if it’s going for the same look like the Nex 3, then it’ll also be getting a curved display.

Based on the render, there will also be the text “APEX 5G” at the back of the phone — an indication that the phone will support the 5G network. But the most unique feature of all would be its camera; the render shows the phone to come with a dual rear camera setup in which one is a 48MP gimbal camera and the other is a lens that supports 5-7.5x optical zoom. The gimbal camera will allegedly help to overcome shakiness and enhance stabilization, especially when it comes to video shooting.

That being said, you should probably take this information with a grain of salt. While a gimbal camera sounds fascinating, going back to a dual-camera setup on a flagship device does seem like taking a step back. Vivo will be holding its press conference at MWC, so we’ll just have to wait till then.

Update: Vivo has decided to withdraw from MWC 2020 and other related events that will be held in Barcelona, Spain.
