Have you ever wanted to do video calls on WhatsApp? Well, you may very well be able to do so right now, as WhatsApp is rolling out support for video calls on the Android App.

Before you get too excited, do note that the feature is only available for some users. Apparently, the feature is currently only available on WhatsApp beta version 2.16.318. If you do not want to wait for WhatsApp to complete the rollout, you can always download the APK in the link provided.

Assuming your version of WhatsApp has video calls enabled, all you really need to do is to go to your contacts list and tap on the video camera button. Alternatively, you can just tap on the call button when you’re in a conversation, and a dialog box will pop up, asking you if you wish to place a voice call or a video call. Do note that in order to do a video call, both parties must have the video call functionality available. If one side does not have video call functionality available, WhatsApp will open up a window that informs you that the recepient needs to update his/her WhatsApp app in order to receive video calls.
