Remember the days where we had to instal windows using DOS or rather, doing anything would require you to enter syntaxes and codes to make a file? Well, now you can get that rush of deja vu because Ubuntu has just landed on the Windows Store, making running the Linux-based system as easy as installing an app.

For those of you that are part of the Windows Insider Program, you can download it right now. If you are not, then joining the program can be done easily, just visit this link . Do take note this is not the GUI version of Ubuntu, it is the command line version. This is mainly made for administrators and programmers, but a GUI can be install, though there is a process that you will have to go through. For those of you that want to pick up some programming knowledge on how to navigate a command line operating system or perhaps just want to see in general what Linux is about can give this a try.

Previously, Microsoft mentioned that they want to make Windows Store a more useful place, and with the release of Ubuntu and iTunes on the store, it is nice to see that they are making an effort to actually improve the store which did not offer much before.
