Twitter’s continued efforts to stamp out trolls from its service may have lead to the creation of a tool that would block certain profiles from being viewed as such a system was spotted by Mashable.

According to Mashable, it appears that Twitter has rolled out a feature that would gray out a user’s profile and all its tweets. On top of that, Twitter would display a warning that states the account in question “may include potentially sensitive content”. In order to continue viewing the tweets of said profile, the user must first click on the “Yes, view profile” button located just below the warning.

A Twitter spokesperson has since clarified that the system in question is currently being tested out as part of the company’s efforts to make the site feel safer. While it is encouraging to see Twitter take the issue of online trolls seriously, the wording on “potentially sensitive content” is vague enough that we don’t quite know what that entails. Whatever the case, seeing as the system is still in its trial stages, Twitter still has time to work out the kinks.
