Just recently, Tumblr was taken down from Apple’s App Store by sudden and left both Apple and Tumblr users confused as there was no explanation from both Apple or Tumblr on why the app was taken down from the Apple App Store.

After much investigation, the reason has finally been revealed and it was reported that the reason why Tumblr was removed from the Apple App Store was due to the discovery of child sexual abuse content that has been found on the platform during a routine audit.

According to The Verge, Apple requires iOS apps to have content filters to prevent the distribution of child pornography. “We’re committed to helping build a safe online environment for all users, and we have a zero tolerance policy when it comes to media featuring child sexual exploitation and abuse. We immediately removed this content,” Tumblr’s statement read.

While Tumblr is working on solving the issue, Tumblr has yet to give any information or statement on when the app will be restored back into the App store.
