The vivo Y33s has just been announced by the brand via a press release – the phone is priced at RM999 and is now available to pre-order until 10 September.
The sleek device is only 8.0mm thin and weighs 182g, meaning the phone is super portable and won’t bog you down. There are two colour options – Mirror Black, and Midday Dream. The former uses vivo’s latest double layer coating technique that incorporates a glossy shine into the black finish. The latter uses an AG frosted glass finish which is great for reducing annoying smudges and fingerprints.
The phone packs a 6.58-inch FHD+ display that offers a 96% NTSC Colour Gamut, so watching videos and movies on the device will be great.
Under the hood is a MediaTek Helio G80 chipset along with 8GB of RAM and up to 128GB of internal storage. The phone also supports vivo’s Extended RAM 2.0 feature that converts 4GB of storage into temporary RAM when you’re performing resource-intensive tasks.
The main seller here is the 50MP triple camera system – the main lens is accompanied by a 2MP bokeh lens, a 2MP super macro camera. For selfies, you get a 16MP shooter. The 50MP main lens is capable of pixel binning to 12.5MP which allows for sharper and brighter images in low-light situations.
Speaking of low-light photography, the Super Night Mode feature combines multiple frames into on final image to heighten the overall quality and brightness of night shots without a hassle. On top of that. This night mode feature also carries over to the selfie lens too – Super Night Selfie uses algorithm to brighten the image; meanwhile, Smart Screen Flash takes a more literal approach to brightening up your face.
Powering all of this is a sizeable 5,000mAh battery and support for up to 18W of fast charging, and reverse charging.
