The Samsung Galaxy TabPro S has been known as one of Microsoft’s Surface biggest competitors. Having released it earlier this year, a new variant Galaxy TabPro S has been added by the Korean manufacturer, with slightly bumped up specs and a brand new paint job. This is the Samsung Galaxy TabPro S Gold Edition, the tablet that has been upgraded by just a bit to make it worth paying the extra money.

As a refresher, the 2-in-1 tablet features a 12-inch Super AMOLED screen at 2160 × 1440 resolution, allowing the display color to have a vibrant touch. The sleek form factor of the tablet makes it weigh in at 1.53 pounds. The TabPro S comes bundled with a detachable full sized keyboard plus a trackpad, which makes it a plus. Underneath the hood, the tablet is powered by an Intel Core M3 processor clocked at 2.2 GHz. The bump in specs comes into play with double the amount of RAM from 4GB to 8GB plus a larger SSD storage at 256GB.

Windows 10 is the operating system for the Galaxy TabPro S, hence putting it in the run as one of the Surface’s biggest competitors out there. The battery has a capacity of 5,200mAh, which Samsung claims to offer up to 10.5 hours of video playback. The tablet also happens to feature enhanced fast charging capabilities, so charging the device via the USB Type-C port won’t take too long.

Samsung is also offering the TabPro Pen for productivity purposes, which can be purchased separately. As mentioned earlier, this new model comes in Gold and carries a price tag of $999.99 (RM4,216.41), making it $200 more than the previous iteration of the TabPro S. What do you think?
