The bigger brother of the Xperia XA is finally out! You’ve guessed it, a bigger screen. The Sony Xperia XA Ultra may be in phablet territory, but as far as its design goes, it still doesn’t disappoint. Sony also boasts the Xperia XA Ultra’s good battery life so let’s jump in.

First and foremost, the 6-inch display comes at Full HD resolution, but only at 367 ppi which falls a little short when compared to the standard 400+ ppi displays seen on typical mid-range and flagship smartphones. Despite sporting a larger than standard display, Sony has managed to keep the screen slim, alongside pretty narrow bezels on its sides. For its form factor, the Xperia XA Ultra is impressively thin at 7.6mm. Underneath the hood is an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 SoC like on the standard XA. The XA Ultra however, sees an additional RAM to 3GB, a bump up the 2GB of RAM on the XA, coupled with 16GB of expandable storage.

Known for its impressive camera and its super selfie shooter, the Xperia XA Ultra flaunts a 21.5MP primary camera with Sony’s Hybrid AutoFocus. On the front, the selfie camera of the XA Ultra leaves many smartphones in the dust, at 16MP with smart selfie flash. Not forgetting, the selfie shooter is also equipped with OIS for better images under low light. The device packs a 2,700mAh battery, which on paper seems less than sufficient for decent battery life. Despite that fact, Sony claims up to 2 days of battery life from a single charge.

The Sony Xperia XA Ultra will be shipped with Android Marshmallow. Sony hasn’t revealed the availability and the pricing of the device. All we know is that the XA Ultra will be offered in white, black and lime colors. Let us know your thoughts at the comments section below!
