CES 2020 technically begins today, as major tech brands start taking their latest and greatest products to the stage before the official show starts. Lenovo is taking the show off with the Legion Y740s gaming laptop, a 15.6-inch machine that measures 0.58-inch and weighs 1.89kg – pretty impressive.

Legion Y740sWhile the good news is that the Legion Y740s won’t be using Intel U processors, as it offers up to a 10th Gen Core i9 H processor, 32GB RAM and 1TB PCIe storage, you do however need to pair it with an eGPU enclosure as a compromise for its slimness, which Lenovo thankfully also ships one with it that’s called the BoostStation, otherwise you are just stuck with integrated Intel graphics.

Legion Y740sLenovo claims that the Legion Y740s would have a battery life of up to eight hours, there’s two Thunderbolt 3 ports, two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports, Dolby Atmos tuned speakers, and users can choose between a 1080p or 4K HDR Dolby Vision display.

If you are interested, Lenovo will be shipping both the Legion Y740s and BoostStation eGPU in May this year, where the laptop will have a starting price of $1100 and add on $250, you get to take the BoostStation eGPU enclosure home.
