The Huawei Fit looks rather familiar

Huawei’s sub brand Honor has launched the Honor S1 smartwatch earlier last month. Aside from the unveiling of the Huawei Mate 9, Huawei has launched a fitness tracking smartwatch as well. Introducing, the Huawei Fit, but isn’t that the Honor S1? Or maybe not.

As much as we hate to admit, the Huawei Fit, if not the Honor S1 with a different name, looks very much identical to Honor’s fitness tracker. Nevertheless, since the Huawei Fit is catered towards fitness tracking, it doesn’t run on Android Wear. Instead, what we see is a monochrome display that shows fitness information apart from time itself, such as the number of steps covered and the amount of calories burned.

Other than that, are the usual features you would see on a fitness tracking wearable. The Huawei Fit tracks your sleep, steps, and also has a heart rate monitor. Best paired with the Huawei Wear app, the Huawei Fit can display notifications from your smartphone as well. For instance, when you receive a text or call, the wearable will be notified via Bluetooth connection.

Huawei claims the Fit to last up to six days on a single charge, and an impressive 30 days on standby. The fitness tracker is water resistant for up to 50 metres like the Honor S1. Both watches sport the same features and design, but the Huawei Fit carries a slightly more premium price point, possibly due to Huawei’s branding, at $129.99 (RM545.59) compared to the Honor S1’s $104 (RM436.51) price tag. What are your thoughts on the Huawei Fit?
