If you happen to be looking forward to the HTC One A9’s successor, don’t get to excited just yet. The Taiwanese OEM has announced the HTC One A9s, and though some may think that the A9s would be an upgrade, it’s actually the other way around in some aspects.
First off, we’re looking at the same iPhone-esque design like its predecessor. The HTC One A9 has got quite beef from critics when it was launched last year, due to its design, though a HTC executive claimed that Apple copied their design instead. Moving on to the display, is where we start to see a step back from the One A9. The A9s sports the same 5-inch display but at a lower 720p resolution from the 1080p screen of the A9. Underneath the hood, the A9s switched over to a MediaTek Helio P10 processor instead of opting for a Snapdragon chipset. Some might argue that a more favorable processor would be the Snapdragon 625, but God knows what HTC was thinking. This comes with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM with 16GB or 32GB of internal storage
The rear camera of the A9s is said to be the same one its predecessor, and a 5MP front facing shooter. Probably the only plus side would be the slight increase in the battery capacity from 2,150mAh to 2,300mAh. The HTC One A9s will be available worldwide, and the company will be revealing the price and the availability for regional markets soon. What do you think? Does this still make it a desirable device?
