Samsung may have made dramatic changes to the Galaxy S6 over its predecessor, it comes with compromises as we’ve mentioned back in our review such as a non-removable battery and no storage expansion due to its all new slim body design. Consumer Reports, known for its controversial report for not recommending the iPhone 4 a few years back due to the infamous ‘antennagate’ is now ranting about Sammy’s latest flagship for lacking the flexibility when compared to its predecessor.

Consumer Reports here have made some valid points on recommending the older Galaxy S5, including IP67 Water and Dust Resistant, a longer battery life due to than the Galaxy S6, the flexibility of swapping batteries and expanding the memory anytime users wished to even if they weren’t necessary at times. Despite of that, we personally don’t really see the need for them to argue with this since most users already have their own charging banks for juicing up their smartphones should it die in the middle of the day, the Galaxy S5 didn’t really fare well in our review last time due to a couple of imperfection in features.

The iPhone is technically the first smartphone to have no expandable storage and removable battery from the very beginning and such design trend has been used by most smartphone companies since then to achieve a thinner smartphone design language, Consumer Reports should probably be conducting some research on users today live on these compromises and judge it differently, while we somehow agree the Galaxy S5 could be more superior than the S6 is some ways, you just have to give up something for having something great onboard.
