Stealing a prototype product from a brand’s CES booth? That takes balls. Selling said stolen prototypes online? That takes huge balls. Such is the case of the stolen Project Valerie laptops as it appears that Razer’s prototype has been spotted on the China-based online marketplace Taobao.

First spotted by Unwire Hong Kong, it appears that those responsible for stealing Razer’s Project Valerie laptops have somehow managed to smuggle it out of the United States and brought it back to mainland China. Once there, the thieves proceeded to put the prototype on sale on Taobao for CNY150,000, which is roughly RM97,075.

There is the possibility that the Project Valerie laptop that is being sold on Taobao right now is a fake of course, and someone is actively trying to scam someone out of their hard earned money. However, if the person behind the Taobao listing does in fact have the laptops on them, the decision to put the laptop up on Taobao could potentially lead to Razer finding out who exactly has stolen the prototype.
