Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently said that the new iPhone coming this year will be sporting sensor-shift image stabilisation. If true, this will be another big step Apple has taken in terms of its iPhone’s camera setup.

According to Kuo, the 6.7-inch iPhone will be integrated with sensor-shift image stabilisation — supposedly the iPhone 12 Pro Max. Currently, the wide and telephoto lenses on the iPhone 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max are equipped with optical image stabilisation.

With the new sensor-shift stabilisation, the phone will be able to support stabilisation on its camera system instead of depending on the lens itself. This will also prove useful for attachable accessories like the Moment lenses.

Kuo also mentioned that this will likely be a feature that’s only available on the 6.7-inch iPhone, but it will be introduced to other iPhone models in 2021.
