Getting stronger in both smartphone and consumer photography, Samsung Malaysia has introduced the Samsung NX1, a compact system camera that comes with a 28 Megapixel BSI APS-C imaging sensor, featuring a fast 15FP continuous AF shooting, 205 Phase Detection AF points, this is the first of its kind in the compact camera industry.

Well, Samsung is getting serious about metal on its smartphones so does its camera, the NX1’s body features a highly durable magnesium alloy body that feels solid and rugged, it is also strengthened with dust and splash resistance which obviously includes rubber seals and seams to protect its dials and buttons.

The Samsung NX1 is powered by the DRIMe V Image Processor that delivers superior colour reproduction and noise reduction, this fast processor also enables the NX1 to shoot 4K UHD videos at 30 FPS with the most advanced HEVC Codec (H.265) with great compression capabilities. The NX1 will have an ISO range from 100-25600 and extended ISO to 51200 that will let you capture great photos in low light.

A 3.0-inch FVGA resolution Super AMOLED display is onboard as well as an XGA OLED EVF with 2.36 million dots that lets photographers see the real results of their shots. The camera will also have Wi-Fi Direct, NFC and Bluetooth onboard for easy file transfers. Battery size is also pretty respectable at 1860mAh.

The Samsung NX1 comes with a standard 16-50mm kit lens and an optional 50-150mm F2.8 OIS telephoto lens to go with. Availability and pricing of the camera isn’t provided by Samsung officials yet.
