We believe everyone of you have been waiting for a metal chassis phone from Samsung and the company has apparently been listening to consumers while being challenged by manufacturers like HTC and Xiaomi who create phones with great build quality, the company’s rumored metal phone is now official and it’s final name is really called the GALAXY Alpha. Seriously, what took these guys so long to redesign their phones after so many years of dominating the Android market?
Judging by pictures, the phone doesn’t have a full metal body like the HTC One M8 but a stunningly beautiful metal frame being used as the phone’s construction while bringing over the GALAXY S5’s perforated backcover design. Despite of that, we still call this a big move in Samsung’s smartphone design and we look forward to even more better devices in the future. While the phone has an obvious advantage in build quality over the GALAXY S5, it is positioned as a mid-range device but the hardware ain’t too shabby, which features a 4.7” Super AMOLED 720p resolution display, an Exynos Octa Core processor with 2GB RAM, 32GB built-in memory with no expandable storage, 12 Megapixel AF + 1.3 Megapixel main and front cameras, a built-in WiFi 802.11ac MIMO adapter, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, NFC, LTE network support and a 1860mAh battery.
The GALAXY Alpha will come preloaded with the latest Android 4.4.4 KitKat with TouchWiz, other cool features brought over from flagships include a Heart Rate Sensor, Fingerprint Scanner, Download Booster and Private Mode. We certainly believe that theGALAXY Alpha will live up to expectations and probably bring Samsung back to its top ranks if we see more products like this from them in the near future, be it a flagship, mid-range or even entry-level devices, we hope to see Samsung make a difference this time.
We should be expecting a local launch coming up next month and with various color options Charcoal Black, Dazzling White, Frosted Gold, Sleek Silver, and Scuba Blue, availability of colors will depend on markets as well.
