If you need a summary of all of 2019’s smartphone trends in one phone – the new Samsung Galaxy A70s has that covered. That’s not a bad thing in reality, especially when you consider the value you’re getting with the price.

The new device has been launched in India, and it’s an upgrade over the regular Galaxy A70. Although it’s the same size, it now has the prism back panel design we saw on its smaller brother the Galaxy A50s.

You also get the same AMOLED Infinity-U display as the regular version. But what’s new now are the cameras – the main lens is now a 64MP shooter. So this is 2019 trend number one – higher resolution cameras. Mostly likely powered by Samsung’s ISOCELL Bright GW1 imaging sensor, the Galaxy A70s has the highest resolution camera in Samsung’s line-up.  Plus there’s night mode and video stabilization, which comes to 2019 trend number 2. It’s coupled with an 8MP ultrawide lens and a 5MP Live Focus depth lens too.

Over on the front is a 32MP selfie lens too which is similar to the regular A70. Moving to internals, you also see familiar hardware in the Snapdragon 675, but this time you get a 8GB RAM + 128GB memory configuration. The same 4,500mAh battery powers the phone – it charges via USB C and supports up to 25W Super Fast Charge. That’s 2019 trend number three – big batteries with faster charging, at least faster than 15W.

It also comes with Android 9 Pie with Samsung One UI, an in-screen fingerprint scanner. This time however, like the its siblings the A30s and A50s, this phone also gets Samsung Pay support. The Samsung Galaxy A70s is priced at INR 28,999 (RM1,722) for the 6 GB+128 GB variant, and INR 30,999 (RM1,840) for the 8 GB + 128 GB variant. There’s no word yet on when it’ll arrive in Malaysia, but stay tuned for more updates.
