The Bixby button on Samsung’s flagships might come in handy, but can be quite the annoyance as well. With tons of complains regarding accidental triggers of Bixby and the inability to map it to another function, Samsung has finally rolled out a software update that will change things around.

Samsung introduced Bixby as an extremely reliable and intelligent voice assistant for its handsets, but has generally drawn criticism for seemingly shoving the feature down Samsung flagship users’ throats. After much complain, the South Korean smartphone manufacturer has finally released an update which allows users to fully disable the Bixby button.

The process for the feature to kick in might take a little more effort to usual, as you would have to ensure that all Bixby related apps are updated to their latest versions via the Galaxy Apps store. If you happen to hate Bixby a lot, it is definitely worth the effort for you to do so.

There are existing ways to remap or disable the Bixby button via third party apps and various software tweaks, but now that Samsung has officially allowed its users to disable the button, hateful Samsung fans can finally put the voice assistant to rest. Do you love or hate Bixby?
