Think the Galaxy S8 is already good enough with IP68 water and dust resistant feature? Samsung is bringing in a much robust device called the Galaxy XCover 4, as spotted by our friends at Lowyat.NET in the SIRIM database, the regulatory board that certifies and registers wireless devices that is being imported to the country. The Galaxy XCover 4 is a IP68 water and dust resistant device, but its rugged chassis is MIL-STD-810 certified so that it can really take some on some serious drops and bumps.

As for such devices, don’t expect it to come with flagship hardware internals as they are not meant to be power houses, you get a 5-inch HD display, a 1.4GHz quad-core processor paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB of storage, and a removable 2800mAh battery. If you fancy to take some great pictures on this phone, it doesn’t disappoint with a 13-megapixel main and 5-megapixel front camera, which is a lot better than those rugged phones we know of.

We shouldn’t expect Samsung to officially launch the device in an event, but do keep your eyes out in Samsung retail stores as it could just show up in the next few months, would you buy this rugged smartphone from Samsung?
