Rockstar announces Red Dead Redemption 2; trailer to go live on Friday

After two days worth of teasing, Rockstar has officially announced their next game, and it is going to take players back to the wild, wild west.

While little information is revealed about Red Dead Redemption 2, the image that accompanies the announcement shows seven characters, all of which may or may not be key to the central plot of the game. Interestingly, the figure at the center of the image resembles John Marston, the protagonist of Red Dead Redemption. This may indicate that the game may not be a sequel, but instead a prequel to Red Dead Redemption. It could also mean that we may be taking control of Marston’s son instead.

Unfortunately, PC gamers may not be getting RDR 2 either as the website shows that only the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be getting the game. There is a possibility that Rockstar will work on an enhanced PC port for RDR 2 much like they did for Grand Theft Auto V, but seeing as the first Red Dead Redemption game was never available on the PC, we wouldn’t hold our breaths over this.

The first trailer for RDR 2 will go live at 11am on the 20th of October, which is 11pm local time on the same day. The game is expected to launch in Fall 2017, so there’s still a whole year to wait before Red Dead Redemption 2 becomes available.
