Samsung to set up Galaxy Note 7 exchange stations in airports

Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 has been outright banned from flights, meaning that the phone is not allowed onboard, even if its battery is completely discharged. This can pose a problem to frequent flyers as they would need to dispose of the phone they’ve paid good money for in order to get on the flight.

Because Samsung doesn’t need yet another PR disaster at this point, the Korean company has begun setting up exchange stations in various airports that would allow customers to refund their Note 7s, or swap it with a new phone. Currently, these exchange stations are only available in South Korea, but CNet reports that Samsung will be setting up these stations in high traffic airports around the world. Samsung has announced that airports in Australia will be getting the exchange stations, and ABC News has reported that the San Francisco International Airport will be getting one as well.

No word was given as to whether or not these exchange stations will be available in any of Malaysia’s airports. Until then, you should get your Note 7 exchanged at your nearest Samsung dealer.
