The Redmi Note 7 was launched recently with a 6.3-inch screen and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and to demonstrate how tough the phone can be, two videos that were testing out the phone’s durability was recently posted on YouTube.

The first video shows Redmi CEO Lu Wei Bing performing a drop test on the Redmi Note 7. The Redmi Note 7 is placed in a trash can in which the opening is taped to prevent the phone from falling out. It is then kicked down 18 steps of stairs which is around 2.7m before it was picked up to see if it was still functional, and it was.

The second video is uploaded by a YouTube channel called Creator Studio and it’s even more risky than the first one because the Redmi Note 7 was used as a skateboard in the video. Two units of Redmi Note 7 were used, and each phone was strapped to two roller wheels. To be fair, it’s more of a rollerblade than a skateboard.

When the DIY rollerblade is done, it is then taped to the shoes. The individual then proceed to stand on the phones and attempt to skate even though he failed. Fortunately, the two Redmi Note 7 were proved to be unscathed and fully functional.

If the phone’s durability is fully reliant on the Corning Gorilla Glass 5, then the newest Corning Gorilla Glass 6 might even be more impressive when it comes to tests like the two videos because it’s said to able to perform 2x better than the Glass 5.
