realme Malaysia has launched the realme C55 smartphone, a value-oriented smartphone that features an interesting hardware package that you won’t come to expect on the series.

realme’s C series is usually catered to budget users and comes with entry-level hardware, the realme C55 is otherwise a different candidate, as it is the first C series phone to receive ‘strategic upgrades’, and equipped with a rather powerful Mediatek Helio G88 chipset that’s paired up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage, it continues to impress with a large 6.72-inch FHD+ punch-hole display with 90Hz refresh rate, dual camera array with a 64MP wide and 2MP macro lens, and 5,000mAh battery with 33W SuperVOOC fast charging.

Aside from specs, the phone features a Sunshower Design back that glitters when you shine light on it, it is also a very sleek device that measures just 7.89mm thin despite having a large 5,000mAh battery.

The realme C55 ships with realme UI 4.0 based on Android 13 out of the box, while the software features an interesting Mini Capsule feature that mimics the iPhone 14 Pro’s Dynamic Island interface, which at this time of publication supports showing the phone’s charging status and low battery alerts, it will receive a software update at a later time to support showing data usage and the day’s steps and walking distance.

Available in two storage variants of 6GB RAM+128GB Storage and 8GB RAM+256GB Storage, the realme C55 retails at RM699 and RM799 respectively, it can be preordered till 30th March 2023 at realme official brand stores, where customers can receive a free realme Buds 2 Neo and 6 Months Extended Warranty worth RM129.

General availability will be made on 31st March 2023 onwards at realme official retail channels and dealers in Malaysia.

I really like this design, the camera has been upgraded, but the battery of this machine makes me quite confused.
