It seems like everyone wants a phablet after all, as Xiaomi has announced over 10 million pre-orders of their Mi Max phablet which was just announced last week at Beijing. Diving into the math of it, 10 million barely makes up a fraction of China’s population of over a billion people. But then again, 10 million pre-orders is a pretty tall order for smartphone manufacturers to achieve in under a week, but not much for Xiaomi, considering the fact that the Mi 5 hit 15 million pre-orders within a couple of days.

Xiaomi will be pushing out 100,000 units of the Mi Max today at its China roadshow today. However, those units will be of the model with the slightly lower spec sheet, which means a Snapdragon 650 plus 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The phablet sports a colossal 6.44-inch Full HD display and a whopping 4,850mAh battery prepared to be drained by the amount of power needed for a device of such form factor.

And yet we’re still waiting for the Mi Max to arrive to our local shores soon. How long will it take for Xiaomi to ship the phablet over? What do you think?
