The Pokémon Go craze has very much cooled down over the past few months, but for those of you who are still playing the game, you will be pleased to know that Niantic will be launching its first “global in-game event” to celebrate Halloween.

From the 26th of October until the 1st of November, Niantic will be boosting the encounter rates for “spooky” Pokémon. This includes the Gastly line, the Zubat line, and the Drowsee line of Pokémons.

Apart from the boost to “spooky” Pokémons, Niantic will also be boosting the candy gain throughout the duration of this event. For starters, Niantic has doubled the number of candies you’ll get when you catch a Pokémon. This means that you’ll receive six pieces of candy instead of the usual three. Apart from that, the game’s buddy system has been tweaked, and your buddy Pokémon will now give you four candies instead of one once you’ve reached the target distance. Finally, sending your Pokémon Go to Professor Willow will net you two pieces of candy instead of one.

If you’re looking to powerlevel or mass evolve your Pokémons in Pokémon Go, Halloween is the perfect time for you to stock up on candies.
