More improvements are coming to the PlayStation 4 as Sony begins rolling out the 4.00 update, codenamed Shingen, to those who are part of the PlayStation 4’s public beta program.

The improvements that come with 4.00 are mostly UI-centric, with Sony introducing new system backgrounds, a revised What’s New tab, updated popup notifications and redesigned system icons. The Quick Menu and Share Menu has also been overhauled, meaning that you’ll no longer need to leave gameplay entirely as both menus will occupy just half of the screen while adding several new feautres to both menus.

Folders and library organization tools will also be introduced with the 4.00 update, give you even more options to organize content on the PS4. Apart from allowing users to create new folders on the PS4’s conent launch and library, Sony will also be adding a new tab called Purchased, which will show all of the content you own. To go with this, the PS4 will be receiving new sorting tools for the Library.

Trophies have also been improved upon with the 4.00 update giving you the ability to view your Trophies even if you are offline. You can also view Hidden Trophies now, although you’ll need to toggle a setting on for said Hidden Trophies to be visible. Finally, Sony is changing the icons for the rarity of a Trophy, replacing the current design for something that looks like a pyramid instead.

Lastly, user profiles will be updated, allowing itto display relevant info for a player at a glance. You will also be able to add a background image to your own profile once the 4.00 update goes live.
