According to OPPO, the new fast charging technology can power a 4,000mAh battery up to 41% in five minutes and fully charge the battery in just 20 minutes — this is faster than the 65W technology which fully charges the same battery in 30 minutes.
Making a 125W charger isn’t as easy as it seems; the product uses double-6C cells combined with Multiple Tab Winding and three charge pumps that are in parallel connection for higher conversion efficiency. This will prevent it from overheating or overloading while delivering high power to charge devices.
65W AirVOOC
Apart from the 125W charger, OPPO also revealed several new chargers. Its newest wireless charging technology is now upgraded to 65W, so it’s comparable to the current wired charging that is found in the Find X2 and Find X2 Pro. OPPO also uses semiconductor cooling to transfer heat instead of increasing of using a larger fan.
Compact fast chargers
OPPO also made two new compact chargers, a 110W mini flash charger and a 50W mini SuperVOOC charger. The SuperVOOC charger is only 10.05mm thick while the mini flash charger is 1.2cm thick, both ideal to be kept in a pocket.
Despite the announcement of these technologies, OPPO hasn’t confirmed their availability in the market. Hopefully, we’ll see the 125W technology by this year, or next year with the Find X3.
