OnePlus is about to launch the 6T somewhere in November 2018 and usually its a decent upgrade to the previous phone that most customers look forward too before buying the latest OnePlus phone. However, it looks like the company is planning a launch on 15 January 2019 and it could be a new phone.
This information was spotted on their Weibo page where they highlighted the 15 January 2019 alongside a time of 3 PM to 4 PM. One can only guess that they are planning to either unveil a new phone or a new OnePlus product. The title roughly translates to “new semester target test”, what that means is anyone’s guess but in the comments, a user pointed out that 15 January 2019 is a Tuesday and companies in China prefer Tuesday as the day to launch a new product.
This could be a corporate event but the fact that they are publicly announcing the date and time could indicate that it could be something more. It will be a long time before we hear anything, but if its a new phone launch, we can expect leaks and rumours to roll in towards the end of the year.
