It’s going to be a busy week for all smartphone enthusiasts alike as we’ll be welcoming the arrival of the OnePlus 8T, just one day after the iPhone 12 is unveiled.
The launch is supposedly a global one and will happen this 14 October; it’s China launch will happen a day later. To rival the iPhone 12 in hype, OnePlus has revealed official renders of the phone via YouTube; and it looks like a been-there-done-that affair.
The most obvious difference is in camera bump placement, which has been moved to the side. There looks to be four lenses at the back – and will most likely be populated a 48MP setup. For selfies, you get the same punch-hole layout, and possibly the same 16MP module too.
The display on the phone looks to be flat, like the regular OnePlus 8 – the only difference is that the OnePlus 8T will come with a 120Hz panel instead of the original’s 90Hz screen.
In terms of colours, the Aquamarine Green is still very much in fashion over at OnePlus, but we’ll also likely see a silver variant as well.
Under the hood is possibly a Snapdragon 865+ chipset – and that could bump the price of the OnePlus 8T way higher than the OnePlus 8. According to a leaked listing of the phone in Germany however, the OnePlus 8T will be priced similarly to the original – which starts at around RM2,899.
