MWC24: Honor launches Magic 6 Pro, MagicBook Pro 16 and Pad 9

At Mobile World Congress 2024, Honor has taken off the stage by announcing the Honor Magic 6 Pro for global markets, while alongside its flagship phone, it has also announced the Honor MagicBook Pro 16 laptop and Honor Pad 9 mid-range tablet.

Honor Magic 6 Pro

The Honor Magic 6 Pro features a series of upgrades over the previous model.

Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and paired with 12GB RAM and 512GB of storage, the Magic 6 Pro boasts a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 5000 nits peak brightness, it is protected by the second-generation NanoCrystal glass that’s got better drop and scratch resistance, while it also has a higher PWM Dimming frequency of 4320Hz than the previous model.

Smartphone photography continues to be one of the highlights of the Magic 6 Pro, as it comes with a new triple camera system that challenges the Galaxy S24 Ultra, its 50MP Super Dynamic Falcon H9000 main camera comes with dual aperture of f/1.4-f/2.0, its 180MP telephoto tele-falcon camera offers up to 2.5x of optical zoom range, and its 50MP ultrawide camera takes care of wide landscapes and group photos with a 13mm focal length.

Honor has marketed the camera system as a sports photography device, which all camera sensors are capable of capturing fast moving subjects with clear details with its improved AI Motion Sensing capture feature that complements the new camera hardware.

The front facing camera takes 50MP stills, while notably, the pill notch that it resides has been moved to the center, and yes – it is also a functional Magic Capsule interface that works similarly to Apple’s Dynamic Island.

Similar to the Honor Magic V2 foldable, the Magic 6 Pro features a large 5600mAh silicon carbon battery that has been rigorously tested in extreme temperatures, while supporting 80W fast wired charging and 66W fast wireless charging.

Probably the most interesting part of the Honor Magic 6 Pro is its on-device capabilities, which is built into Magic OS 8.0 and harnesses the NPU of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the phone is capable of predicting the user’s next action when performing certain features with Honor Magic Portal; while Honor Magic Ring lets you connect several Honor devices for instant collaboration and hand off features.

Honor MagicBook Pro 16

The Honor MagicBook Pro 16 is the most powerful laptop that Honor has ever introduced in its portfolio, boasting a 16-inch 3K resolution display with a 165Hz refresh rate, it is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H processor with Intel Arc Graphics, while it can be configured with up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU.

This will be the first laptop that Honor will be shipping with on-device AI capabilities, Honor also claims that the laptop’s 75Wh battery can outperform conventional laptops with large 99.9Wh batteries with up to 12 hours of battery life.

Honor Pad 9

The Honor Pad 9 is a mid-range tablet that features a 12.1-inch 2.5K resolution display, powered by a Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset and paired to 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage, it features an 8-speaker sound system that complements the impressive display.

Similar to the two devices above, the Honor Pad 9 will support the Honor Magic Ring feature that allows users to perform multi-collaboration between Honor devices.
