It can’t be any more straight forward when a company decides to name its phone the “Selfie 2”. This isn’t by any means a joke as Indian smartphone maker Micromax has done so with its latest selfie centric handset – the Micromax Selfie 2. Indian smartphone companies have been churning out pretty decent devices so far, and the Micromax Selfie 2 is no exception.
Starting off with the display of the Selfie 2, which might be disappointing to some at a sub standard 720p resolution. Measuring at 5.2-inches, you might have to squint your eyes a little before realizing that it is a non-full HD screen. Underneath the hood lies a MediaTek MT6737 processor, alongside 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage.
The rear camera of the Micromax Selfie 2 isn’t at all special at a standard 13 megapixels. with an f/2.0 aperture. Since the phone is centered at selfies, the Selfie 2 features a front facing shooter of 8 megapixels. What’s unique is that the selfie camera is HDR ready, and it has real time bokeh effect for selfies, which is definitely a selling point for enthusiasts. Other specs include a rear fingerprint sensor and a 3,000mAh battery.
The Micromax Selfie 2 will only be available in India. It will go on sale with an affordable price tag of INR 9,999 (RM 667.15). Sounds like value for money device for its selfie capabilities.
