The Galaxy S8 Active is due for a release later this year as part of Samsung’s routine to have a rugged variant of its S series flagship annually. Most of us do wonder whether Samsung is able to do it this round with the near bezel-less display of the Galaxy S8, and the company seems to have nailed it, according to these newly leaked renders and the handset’s manual courtesy of the folks at Android Police.

As usual, the Galaxy S8 Active retains the general shape of the regular Galaxy S8, including the bezel-less Super AMOLED Display on the front. As it is made to withstand more drops and knocks by the user, the Galaxy S8 Active is no doubt more beefy when compared to the standard Galaxy S8, featuring a military grade body and a durable metal design. The display is also shatter resistant for up to five feet on a flat surface.

The internals are pretty much the same – a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Battery however, is at a larger 4,000mAh compared to 3,000mAh. Other than that, the cameras are of the same as well – a 12MP dual pixel rear camera and an 8MP selfie shooter.

Unfortunately for us, the Galaxy S8 Active will likely be an AT&T exclusive in the US once again. However there is no info on that so far so I guess it’s no harm to keep our hopes up. What do you think?
