Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 expected to debut with Samsung’s new 108MP sensor on September 24

Xiaomi’s Mi MIX 4 is set to launch on September 24 and reports are suggesting that this device will be the first to equip Samsung’s 108MP sensor.

The Samsung camera sensor is the ISOCELL Bright HMX that uses pixel-merging Tetracell technology and it’s only 1/1.33-inch in size. With its pixel binning feature, the camera is capable of shooting at 27MP resolution and supporting video recording with 6K resolutions at 30fps.

According to GSMArena, the Xiaomi phone will also come with a 16MP ultra-wide lens and a 12MP periscope camera that might support 5x optical zoom. Since Android 10 is already released, the Mi MIX 4 is expected to ship with the latest MIUI 11 based on Android 10.

Under the hood, the Mi MIX 4 should come with either the Snapdragon 855 chipset, the Snapdragon 855+ chipset, or even both. It will support up to 12GB RAM and we’re hoping it’ll come with reverse charging just like what HUAWEI and Samsung have done with their flagship devices.

Nevertheless, we’ll be expecting a spectacular Super AMOLED display from the Mi MIX 4 since Xiaomi did a wonderful job with its predecessor’s display. Perhaps the phone will also come with an in-display fingerprint sensor, but we can only confirm when the phone launches on September 24.
