The Samsung Galaxy A (2016) lineup of smartphones arrived to local shores at the beginning of the year, namely the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7. The Galaxy A9 Pro saw a later launch in Malaysia not too long ago. These handsets were mostly known for their impressive camera setups, and they are probably the next in line after the Korean manufacturer’s flagship Galaxy S series.

Having said that, Samsung has probably deemed the Galaxy A series of smartphones capable and worthy enough to taste Google’s latest Android Nougat software. According to a report by Sam Mobile, Samsung’s Galaxy A series will be the only non-flagship lineup of handsets to receive two Android updates, apart from the flagship Galaxy S series. The full spread of the Galaxy A series globally include the Galaxy A3, Galaxy A5, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A8, Galaxy A9 and the Galaxy A9 Pro.

Samsung will definitely have a lot on its plate to push out Nougat updates, as the company is currently still working on Android Nougat for its Galaxy S7 series and last year’s flagship Galaxy S6 series. As for the Nougat rollout for the Galaxy A series, there happens to be no specific time frame just yet but we will be expecting a rollout by the first half of 2017. Till then, we just have to keep our eyes peeled for any updates by Samsung itself.
