LG might have failed with the G5 last year, but its other flagship the LG V20 still managed to impress the masses when it was launched in September 2016. As LG’s annual second flagship, the LG V20 had its own strides, mostly known for its secondary ticker screen above the display. According to popular tip source Evan Blass, the LG V30 will launch a day before IFA commences this year at Berlin, and has even posted the alleged leaked press invite for the event.

It is typical of companies to hold press conferences within the week prior to tech trade shows, hence this new information regarding the launch date of the LG V30 doesn’t come as a surprise, which is August 31.

The LG V30 will likely sport an 18:9 aspect ratio display, as hinted on the teaser uploaded by Blass, which comes in a form of a phone display with curved corners. Rumor has it that LG will do away with the secondary ticker screen. It is also slated to feature a Snapdragon 835 processor, IP68 water and dust resistance, plus a glass built chassis.

The question is will it still be unique without its secondary display? Or was it just a gimmick all the while?
