With (almost) all telcos enabling 5G on their networks in Malaysia, iPhone users in Malaysia are finally given the 5G treatment after updating to iOS 16.2, which you will find the option to enable it in the Mobile Data settings within the Settings app.

iPhones that support 5G

iPhones that support 5G connectivity include all iPhone 12 and 12 Pro models, iPhone 13 and 13 Pro models, iPhone 14 and 14 Pro models, and the entry iPhone SE (2022). At this time of writing, only Celcom, Digi and U Mobile’s 5G network will work on iPhones, while Maxis has yet to offer 5G commercially, Unifi Mobile and Yes’ 5G network isn’t supported on iPhones, as these two aren’t Apple’s telco partners.

Other iOS 16.2 features include Apple Music Sing, which is a karaoke mode within the lyrics feature in Apple Music that reduces the vocals of the singer and lets you sing your heart out, and FreeForm, a collaborative whiteboard app that allows Apple users to write and doodle in real-time and even over a FaceTime call.

So, time to hit that update button again and as usual, make sure you do a proper backup in case anything goes wrong.
