Huawei has finally unveiled the long-anticipated P20 lineup, which consists of the P20 Pro and P20 in Paris today. These phones succeed the last year’s P10 phones and come with major improvements to its photography capabilities.

The main focus just like all the other P-series lineup is the camera and Huawei took the photography game to the next level by introducing three cameras on the rear with the P20 Pro, with the setup being an amazing 40MP+20MP+8MP with a sensor size of 1.55um, the biggest in any phone and it is the only phone in the world that comes wit ha 40MP the main camera. The 20MP camera is for monochrome and the 8MP is a telephoto lens, overall making this phone a contender in its own league. It also comes with an insane 102400 ISO option for extremely low light photos. The P20, on the other hand, comes with a 20MP main shooter and 12MP monochrome sensor with a sensor size of 1/1.7-inch but still retains all the features of its Pro cousin. On the front is a 24MP sensor that comes with selfie lighting enhancements, giving you nice shots even if the lighting is not ideal. Huawei has also sent the phones to DxO to evaluate its camera capabilities and DxO has awarded the P20 with a score of 102 and the P20 Pro, 109 making them the highest scoring phones on the DxOMark benchmark.

There is a range of features that complement the amazing camera setup, there are some features we have seen before like 3D portrait lighting similar to what we have seen on the iPhone X and 960fps slow-mo which we have seen on the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Sony Xperia XZ2. However, the features that made it stand out is the AI Image Stabilization, which eliminates the need for a tripod for long exposure shots and even on video. Other than that, there is the 4D predictive focus which can retain image focus even if the point of focus is moving around.

Both the phones come equipped with a Kirin 970 processor and brings along all the AI processing powers that are seen on the Mate 10 phones. Other than that, the P20 Pro comes with a 6.3-inch OLED display, 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage. Powering the Pro is a 4000mAh battery which supports Huawei’s SuperCharge. The standard P20 comes with 6.3-inch RGBW display, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Powering this device is a 3400mAh battery which also supports SuperCharge. Both these phones come with Android 8.1 out of the box, alongside the latest version of EMUI.

Both the phones will come in four colours, Pink, Black, Blue and the beautiful Twilight which is a gradient colour of purple and turquoise. As for pricing, the P20 Pro will cost 899 Euro (RM4317.18) and the standard P20 will cost 649 Euro(RM3116.63).
