Yesterday Huawei launched the Nova 4 that is not only their first smartphone with the punch hole display but also their first smartphone with a 48MP main camera.

The Nova 4 comes with a 6.4-inch 2310x1080p display and of course has no notch since it’s replaced by the hole in the display. The phone has a fingerprint sensor and also a headphone jack, and the back of the phone features a glossy gradient finish. Contradicting to the predictions, the phone sports a Kirin 970 processor instead of the newer Kirin 980 processor, but it does run on EMUI 9.0 based on Android 9.0. In addition, the phone comes with the expected 8GB RAM and also 128GB storage that is expandable up to 512GB.

Apart from that, the Nova 4 comes with triple rear camera setup which consists of a 48MP main sensor, a 16MP ultra wide angle sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. However, Huawei is also offering a cheaper variant that replaces the 48MP main camera with a 20MP camera so that there is a cheaper version for those who don’t see the necessity for a 48MP camera and still want the Nova 4. Besides that, Huawei includes a 9V2A charger for the phone that has a 3750mAh battery for fast charging purposes.

The Nova 4 comes in red, blue, white and black, and is priced at CNY3,399 for the 48MP camera variant, whereas the 20MP camera variant will cost CNY3,099. It has only launched in China, so it is unsure if and when the phone will arrive in Malaysia, but the phone is expected to be around RM2,000 if it’s available in Malaysia.
