Huawei’s battle with the US Government continues to take its toll as reports surface of Huawei halting the launch of a new Windows-based laptop.

According to a report by The Verge, CEO of Huawei’s consumer division has confirmed to CNBC of this news, that the Chinese company will not be able to launch new laptops because of the trade sanction that prevents American companies like Microsoft from doing business with Huawei.

According to Yu, the laptops would have been announced this week, only without a release date, but now they can’t do that either as the company’s future are bleak.

It is said that the laptop would’ve been a new entry into the MateBook lineup after the introduction of the MateBook X Pro at this year’s Mobile World Congress.

This also follows news of Microsoft cutting ties with Huawei late last month, stopping orders from the Chinese company for Windows operating systems.

With the likes of Google, ARM, Intel and Qualcomm also out of the picture, Huawei is dealt a heavy blow in all fronts; it will be interesting to see if they can recover.
