The new HUAWEI FreeBuds 4 is now available in Malaysia, featuring features like ANC 2.0, Intelligent Audio Connection and a slightly longer battery life.
Same old design, but new, refreshing colour
The FreeBuds 4 is now available in two colours — Ceramic White and Silver Frost. They’re also lighter than their predecessors, weighing at 4.1g per earbud. Design-wise, it doesn’t look like HUAWEI made any major changes.
HUAWEI introduces swipe gestures
However, HUAWEI did add swipe gestures for volume controls, in addition to the existing tap and long press functions. With Intelligent Audio connection, the FreeBuds 4 can connect to two devices at once and switch seamlessly. There’s also the companion app, HUAWEI AI Life, that will allow customisation for noise cancellation and audio modes.
When it comes to gaming, the company boasted a reduced latency of 90ms for HarmonyOS phones and 150ms for EMUI phones. Despite housing the same battery as their predecessors, the FreeBuds 4 can supposedly last slightly longer at 22 hours when used with its charging case. However, a single charge still gives user the same 4 hours playback time.

The FreeBuds 4 is now available at RM599 and can be pre-ordered on HUAWEI’s official site here. Those who pre-order it within the time period (July 6 to July 21) will be entitled to a free HUAWEI Band 4 and a free home gift package.
