HTC hasn’t been doing well in terms of smartphone sales over the last couple of years. It wasn’t till the launch of the HTC 10 and the Google Pixel series which were made by HTC that we saw the company picking up the pace little by little. With the recent unveiling of the HTC U series, the Taiwanese manufacturer’s revenue this month is expected to increase.

Taiwanese news outlet Digi Times has reported that HTC’s revenue is expected to pick up in March due to the increasing shipments of the company’s new HTC U flagship series, citing unnamed industry sources. The sources have also claimed that shipments to China and India have begun, and that the handset will go on sale in Spain, Germany, France, Canada and the US.

HTC recorded last month’s (February) revenue at NT$4.669 billion (RM671 million), which is although an 11.2 percent increase from last year, remained at a flat from generated revenue in January. However, the company is expected to have its revenue increased by as much as 30 percent in March. Competition will definitely heat up during Q2 2017 as major smartphone manufacturers launch their respective flagships, before the third quarter in which Apple is predicted to launch their annual refresh of their iPhones.
