In addition to its launch event, HP Malaysia also unveiled the OMEN 15 and the Pavilion Gaming — laptops made for gamers. The first difference you’ll notice between this two laptops is the colours.
The OMEN 15 is a gaming laptop made for pro gamers. With a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display, the laptop has a 144Hz refresh rate for that smooth gaming experience paired with anti-glare technology. Despite being a gaming laptop, the OMEN 15 has managed to escape the typical bulky design and is instead slim and weighs from 2.46kg.
The OMEN 15 now comes with up to a 9th generation Intel Core i9 9880H processor and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Max-Q graphics. Moreover, there are various storage configurations for the OMEN 15; you can choose up to 1TB 7200 rpm SATA coupled with 16GB PCIe NVMe Intel Optane Memory or up to 2TB 5400 rpm SATA paired with 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD storage. To top it all off, the OMEN 15 supports dual channel memory of up to 32GB.
Port wise, the OMEN 15 has a media card reader, a Thunderbolt 3 port, a USB-C port, and three USB-A ports. It also has a Mini DisplayPort, a HDMI port and a RJ-45 port. Apart from that, the OMEN 15 sports dual speakers that are equipped with HP Audio Boost 2.0.
Moving on, we have the HP Pavilion Gaming laptop that are made for those who love gaming and still want a laptop that is suitable for work. Unlike the OMEN 15 that comes in Shadow Black, the Pavilion Gaming comes in Shadow Black and Acid Green accents.
The Pavilion Gaming also sports a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display with anti-glare properties, but instead of 144Hz, the laptop comes with a 60Hz refresh rate. It has ultra-thin bezels and also dual speakers combined with HP Audio Boost 1.0, in addition to a HP wide vision HD camera with integrated dual array digital microphone.
The laptop has up to a 9th generation Intel Core i7 9750H processor and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti Max-Q graphics. Coupled with dual channel memory up to 32GB and a few storage options including up to 1TB 7200 rpm SATA with 16GB PCIe NVMe Intel Optane Memory and up to 2TB 5400 rpm SATA with 256GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD, the Pavilion Gaming makes it a laptop that can be used for multiple purposes.
