HONOR Malaysia has officially introduced the flagship HONOR Magic5 series and Magic Vs today, these flagships were announced back in Mobile World Congress 2023 and Malaysia is the first global market that HONOR will begin selling these phones.
The HONOR Magic5 series comprises the Magic5 and Magic5 Pro, they are powered by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen chipset while they mainly differ in storage, display size and cameras.
HONOR Magic5 Pro
Leading the series, the Magic5 Pro features a beautiful symmetrical design and is IP68 certified water and dust resistant, it sports a 6.82-inch 2.8K LTPO OLED display that refreshes at 120Hz and has 2160Hz PWM Dimming that greatly reduces flicker in low brightness, 12GB RAM and 512GB of non-expandable storage, a 5100mAh battery that supports 66W fast wired charging and 50W fast wireless charging.
In the camera department, the Magic5 Pro features triple 50MP cameras, with the main wide-angle camera being a f/1.6 and 1/1.12-inch sensor with OIS and EIS, which allows low light photos to be captured faster and retains detail, while it incorporates a new AI Motion Sensing feature that allows it to capture fast moving subjects, it is accompanied by a f/2.0 ultrawide camera and an optically stabilized periscope camera that does up to 3.5x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.
For its front facing camera, the Magic5 Pro employs a 12MP fixed focus camera that’s assisted by a secondary 3D ToF camera for portrait shots.
In terms of video recording, the Magic5 Pro’s camera is capable of taking up to 4K HDR10+ videos at 60 FPS, mobile videographers can also take advantage of its Magic-Log 10-bit Log 4K 60 FPS recording feature to shoot at flat colors for post color grading.
HONOR Magic5
The regular HONOR Magic5 is still a very attractive device despite lacking some of its Pro sibling’s features, such as IP68 water and dust resistance and wireless charging.
Sporting a smaller 6.73-inch LTPO OLED display that refreshes at 120Hz and having the same PWM Dimming at 2160Hz, the Magic5 comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage, and 5100mAh battery that supports 66W fast charging.
Despite having a different camera system, the Magic5’s cameras no slouch either, the main camera is a 54MP Sony IMX800 camera that’s supported by a 50MP ultrawide camera and 32MP telephoto camera with OIS that does up to 2.5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom, the main camera is also capable of taking 4K 60 FPS videos and Magic-Log 10-bit Log 4K format videos.
As for the front camera, it features the same 12MP shooter as the Pro but lacks a secondary 3D ToF camera.
HONOR Magic Vs
The Magic Vs is HONOR’s direct answer to the Galaxy Z Fold4, which features several advantages over its competition, including a zero-gap design, a larger 5,000mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging, and a more ergonomic 6.45-inch exterior OLED display with a 21:9 aspect ratio that pushes FHD+ resolution at 120Hz.
Powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, the Magic Vs comes with 12GB RAM and 512GB of non-expandable storage, unfolding the device reveals an expansive 7.9-inch OLED display that pushes a resolution of 2272×1984 pixels at 90Hz, both interior and exterior displays feature the same PWM Dimming at 1920Hz.
The Magic Vs features a triple camera system that comprises a main 54MP Sony IMX800 camera, 50MP ultrawide and macro camera and 8MP telephoto camera that does up to 3x optical zoom, both the interior and exterior display’s front camera is a 16MP shooter, which is also another advantage over the Galaxy Z Fold4.
HONOR Magic5 series and Magic Vs Malaysia Price and Pre-Order Details
Starting from 6th-13th April 2023, the HONOR Magic5 Pro and Magic Vs can be pre-ordered in Malaysia.
The HONOR Magic5 and Magic5 Pro retails for RM3,499 and RM4,299 respectively.
