Huawei’s sub brand Honor looks to give 2017 a last shot before the year comes to a close, with yet another unveiling of a smartphone. This time, the company launches the Honor 9 Lite, which is in fact a stripped down version of the recent Honor 9 like its name states. This phone shares a couple of specs with the rest of Huawei and Honor’s family.

First off, we once again witness a phone’s conforming to the 18:9 display aspect ratio. The Honor 9 Lite’s display measures at 5.65-inches, coming in Full HD+ resolution. It is also flanked by slim bezels, making it an ease for one handed usage. Underneath the hood, the Honor 9 Lite is powered by a Kirin 659 processor, the same one already seen in a couple of Huawei and Honor handsets, but nevertheless unsurprising. It comes in three memory and storage variants – 3GB RAM/32GB, 4GB RAM/32GB and 4GB RAM/64GB.

The Honor 9 Lite carries a total of 4 cameras – two on the front and two on the back. Both setups feature the same 13MP + 2MP configuration, giving us the impression that Honor placed more emphasis on the selfie front. The phone comes packing a 3,000mAh battery which is unfortunately paired with a micro USB port instead of the newer USB Type-C. The Honor 9 Lite however does come with the new Android Oreo skinned with its own EMUI 8.0

The Honor 9 Lite comes with a rather “lite” price tag as well at CNY 1,199 (RM 742.48). Let’s hope that this phone makes its way to Malaysia. The phone will go on sale in China on December 26.
