We know that Google is working on their own virtual reality platform. Today, we finally get a glimpse of the headset that will work with the platform, and it is aptly named Daydream View.

Made out of foam and soft fabric, the Daydream View comes with a plastic panel that allows you to mount your Daydream-ready smartphone. At first glance, the Daydream View may look like a fancier version of the Google Cardboard, but this is not the case. According to Google, when you mount a phone on the front panel, the NFC chip will connect to the headset, negating the need for complex wires.

Accompanying the Daydream View is a controller. This controller comes with a home button, a menu button, a clickable trackpad, and volume buttons at the side. Inside the controller are sensors that allows the controller to track motions. When you’re done messing around with the controller, you can simply store the controller in the front panel of the headset.

On launch, Daydream View will be receiving a bunch of apps, ranging from movie apps to games. Google has announced that the platform will be receiving an exclusive “Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them” app at launch. Games such as EVE Gunjack 2 will also be supporting Daydream as well. Finally, video stream apps such as Netflix, Hulu and even YouTube will be coming to Daydream, allowing you to enjoy your movies and videos on the go.

Daydream View will have be available in November for USD79. So far, the Pixel phones are the only Daydream-ready phones that will be available when the headset launches, but Google has promised that third-party Daydream-ready smartphones will be available in the near future.
